The primary goal of this office is to prosecute criminal acts and promote justice. In addition to obtaining appropriate punishment for those who violate the criminal law, this office also works to protect the rights of the innocent. We also assist victims and witnesses who come into contact with the criminal justice system.
I firmly believe that restitution for wrongdoing is a necessary part of the justice system and will seek to obtain restitution for your financial loss due to criminal acts. Please refer to the Victim and Witness section for more information.
Because of state laws regarding the scope of our mission, neither I nor my legal staff can give you personal legal advice on any civil cases. However, if you are a victim or witness we can explain how the criminal justice system works in your case and asssit you in the process. If you are charged with an offense we can only advise you to consult an attorney for advice and direction.
